i have stopped doing vol work with children due to violence from their parents when i have had to speak to children to ask them to stop violent behaviour. all the clubs are set up to reward badly behaved youths. my children dare not go to any local clubs due to the staff being too scared to tell off the badly behaved.my children have all the social disadvantage of peers. we do not use it as an excuse it is an incentive to do well at school to earn a good wage. my children are trying to understand my point of view but the outside world shows them i am a mug as they get nothing for being good except bullied.

This undoubtedly stems from poor or lazy parenting BUT DON`T FORGET, society has changed so much that parents aren`t even really allowed to `discipline` children and by that I mean a smacked behind. Never did me any harm but this ridiculous PC world in which we live has created a "poor me" society. Kids or teens know they can get away with most things these days even if it goes to court. Time to enforce compulsory military attendance. That will sort out these urchins.

This is not rocket science. Kids under sixteen know they can get away with anything apart from murder. Our society has no sanctions to protect us from them.Their parents very often do not care or are incapable of being parents.Often the father is absent and there are a sting or `uncles` in the house.T V, especially the soaps feed us a diet of violence disfunctional families and youngsters whose bad attitudes actions do not result in serious consequences.

Make the parents of these disgusting, cheeky and ill-mannered little brats suffer, after all they were responsible for irresponsibly rearing them. That`s where the problem lies it all stems from the home. Fact

When under 18 are involved in crime, they and their parents should be charged, and both taken into court.

I am 47 and a single mum. I didnt chose to be a single mum but ive had 8 kids and none of them so far have been in trouble with the police. I was brought up to respect my peers and fear the police as they had the power to arrest me. I have tried to bring my children up in the same way but when they see their friends behaving horribly towards others they tell me about it and dont like it. My 2 elsest are grown up and have kids of their own and are teaching them the same way I taught my kids. I have tried to teach simple rules of behavour.. 1, respect.. 2, tell the truth... 3, manners.

It is, without any doubt, the parents to blame for these young offenders. Don`t they know where they are and what they are doing - especially at 11 yrs old?? Parents should be brought to justice along with the offender adn schools should bring back caning!!

Parents have a major part to play, it is their job after all, if they dont care they should be made financially as this tends to make people listen. A lot of these young people are allowed to do what they want as they are not disciplined at home and are not allowed to be disciplined at school. Our people in authority are laughed at. We are now scared of getting tough and offending people, much better to let them away with murder. "literally". Young offenders centres/prisons do these actually scare people? I think not.

I firmly believe that the lack of parential guidance and responsibility is the ingredient for anti social behaviour and criminality. Society used to be self regulating where parents and the extended family plus neighbours offered discipline and wise council

Anyone who lives in the Steeple in Antrim has faced and is probably still facing anti-social behaviour by out of control juveniles. Only last week was my house "pelted" with bottles by three teenagers at 6 o clock in the evening! Luckily I apprehended the culbrits. I confronted the parents who were, I think on something and didn`t care. Great example!!!
